Beyond The Pain Is Purpose

If you're like me, you can list extremely painful moments in your life that left you grasping for air. You know those things that leave you in disbelief or wondering, "Why in the world did this happen?"

Yep, I've been there too. I've experienced the death of loved ones, being sexually abused as a child, depression, and so much more.

Here's what I've learned along the way.

1. You have to remind yourself of truth (God's word).

2. You have to believe His word.

3. Your actions have to align with what you believe.

4. You need people around you that will support you on your journey through life.

1 Peter 4:12-13 (NIV)

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed."

I'm confident that if we hold on, don't grow weary and faint, we will experience His glory.

God will not waste our pain. If we allow it, it will direct us towards our purpose. Hold on! Keep going! In due season, you will reap your reward.
